It's common knowledge that people don't always tell the truth. This often happens because people aren't aware of their own prejudices or don't like the true answer.
The Implicit Association Test was developed to measure implicit attitudes and beliefs. The test allows researchers to determine people's true beliefs including those that they are unaware of or attempting to hide.
This site contains an online version of the Implicit Association Test designed to test your attitude to different ethnic and racial groups. The test takes between five and ten minutes. At the end of the test you will receive your results and you can compare yourself against others.
This test is part of ongoing research by Andrew Leigh and Alison Booth, two researchers at the Australian National University. Your results will be used as part of a larger study attempting to measure Australians' attitudes.
After you have agreed to the disclaimer, you will be led through the test and asked a few basic questions.
Information gathered on this site will be used for research purposes. No attempt is being made using this data to identify individuals and only aggregate data will be published. You can supply your email address if you wish to receive a copy of the results of the research.
Important disclaimer In reporting to you the results of the test we may mention possible interpretations of the results that have a basis in research done with these tests. However we make no claim as to the validity of these interpretations to you as an individual.
I am aware of the possibility of encountering interpretations of my test performance with which I may not agree. Knowing this I wish to continue.
